Antenatal care is basically divided into different stages according to the trimester of pregnancy.

• First trimester antenatal care : This is the initial phase of antenatal care, which begins when the woman confirms she is pregnant. In this stage, we provide genetic screening tests to detect any abnormalities, physical examinations to check overall health, manage early pregnancy symptoms with medications & dietary changes, and also provide emotional support and counseling to our expecting mother to cope with stress and anxiety.
• Second trimester antenatal care : This is the second stage of the antenatal care, where we monitor the development of the baby, perform ultrasound, check for any signs of complications, and discuss plans for labor and delivery with our patients. The second trimester is the most stable stage, and here we also educate the parents about what to expect during the remaining months of pregnancy and how to prepare for the childbirth.
• Third trimester antenatal care : In the last stage of antenatal care, we focus on preparing for childbirth, proper newborn care, dietary advice, and prescribing the pregnancy vitamins and supplements. Under this period, you will learn what true labor pain is and also how to identify other signs of labor.There are basically three stages of normal delivery in which the first stage includes dilation which involves the movement of baby from the uterus to the birth canal.
